Default New owner needs advice - Typical tune up issues with the XB

Hello. I'm looking at an '04 XB with 124,000 miles on it. What have others found, or what do you think I'll be needing to upgrade engine-wise with this? Belts, etc?? Just wondered how these engines hold up over time.

Will the transmission last on these things? I just had a VW i had to replace the tranny on after 160k, just wondered how much maintenance you fellow owners have had to perform on the Scion XB engines.

let me know,
thanks.

my 04 has just under 90xxx and so far i have had to do no maintenance other than the obvious brakes other general stuff, my water pump is starting to leak and my catalytic converter is pretty much shot, just had a new clutch put in and have replaced most of the stock stuff with simple bolt ons.....

CAI
header
exhaust
crank pulley
clutch
flywheel
swaybars
short shifter
blah blah blah.............

its a strong car, i will last a while trust me cause i beat the hell out of mine and its pretty much fine

I get about 26-28 MPG and i drive harder on a regular basis than most people ever would. The only thing i have notice that is wrong is the clutch and the battery need to be replaced. But other than that at 84000 she is running better than ever.

Also its an 04 and my ex has been in like 3 wrecks in it and its been raped every chance it gets by theives.

Needless to say it is Jinxed

A magnet for break-ins, huh?

Anyone up and over the 100k mark with theirs?
